Fans were treated to a tremendous surprise on Sunday, August 10th, when Kevin, 37, Joe, 35, and Nick, 32, played the first of their JONAS20 gigs at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey, accompanied by very special guests.

Before bringing their former Co-Star Demi Lovato, 32, who played Mitchie Torres, to the stage, Joe, who portrayed pop singer Shane Gray in the film, belted out the song “Gotta Find You” as the trio reflected on their 2008 smash Disney film, Camp rock.

The two, who sang the movie’s song, “This is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” together, were on-screen romantic partners and had a brief real-life relationship in 2010.

Joe, who incorporated verses from “Gotta Find You” into the song, told the audience that they hadn’t played “This Is Me,” which the two of them perform together toward the end of the Disney film, for “almost 10 years,” since Lovato believed it “might have been longer.”

As fellow Connect Three band members Jason and Nate, respectively, Kevin and Nick also played the lead roles in the film. During the performance, Nate introduced the tribute and shared his thoughts on the audition process.

Joe and Demi also shared their joy at the reunion on Instagram, lip-syncing to the song “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” in one video and to the famous “Sat Down with the President of Disney Channel” speech by fellow Disney actress Debby Ryan in another.

Later, the brothers’ parents, Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas, younger brother Frankie, 24, Kevin’s wife, Danielle Jonas, and their daughters, Valentina, 8, and Alena, 11, joined them on stage to sing the band’s 2007 song, “When You Look Me in the Eyes.” The surprises didn’t stop there.

When Nick reflected on the band’s 20th anniversary, he stated, “it’s hard to believe” and “in a lot of ways, it feels like it flew by.” The show’s organizers felt that it was “basically impossible to summarize a 20-year journey with music.”

“What we feel we’ve come to is something that really represents the journey we’ve been on and the songs that are relevant to us and those steps in our career in different moments,” the musical “Close” performer said. “We’ve got some amazing special guests lined up and I just can’t wait.”

The Jonas Brothers’ most recent studio album, Greetings from Your Hometown, was released prior to the tour.
